In part one of this tutorial, I show you how to set up a camera projected scene in Cinema 4D using a photograph. then in part two I show you how to Using the External Compositing tag and AEC export for transferring 3D information from CINEMA 4D to After Effects.
And the third part is dedicated to compositing in After Effects, using Optical Flares Plugin for the lamp post.
Watch the short video below to complete this tutorial!
Just a small correction concerning “How to use projection man”
In this tip i show how to use only one camera for all layers to create a Projection.
great work, thanx a lot
Brilliant. Thank you Mustapha…
Thanks, you’re welcome
hi
nice work, thx for share
I have a question, why you use create new proj cam for each layer?
it was not necessary to create new proj cam for each layer,
there was an oversight on my part.

Hi, Mustapha,
I’m follow you tut but I didn0t understand cause have you not used Camera Calibration tool tho orient your grin and perfectly place 3d obj on scene.
I’m stating with C4D, cause normally I use Maya, and maybe there’s a good reason for your choice…!
Please tell me!
Many thanks!
Hi Duca,
Because i used cinema 4d r13 in this tutorial, the camera calibration tag is only in r14.
Ach so… all right know!
THX!
Very bad! I do not know what you would like to show with this very quick tutorial! Profesionalitet, in no case!
Although it is a bit faster there is understandably. I make it more speed to optimize the video length.
Thanks for your comment! in my future tutorials I will consider your suggestion.
Hey Mustapha! thanks a lot for this awesome eye opener. I have been able to pull off stunning stuff with your approach. My little problem and this seem to be a major problem for me in almost all my animations, is the textures jitter/flicker producing noise as the animation plays. Any help here please
This is too cool. Thanks for posting this from a transitioning Max user!
Hi,
My name is Mustafa I think this tutorial very nice and easily for started. But I wait your camera mapping tutorial #3 spinning around inside the camera!
Thanks for sharing…
Incredible work! Kudos!
Thanks very much for the kind words guys. Highly appreciated!
Merci Mustapha !
hi Mustapha, thank you, very eye-opening! a quick question, how did you get to separate your layers in photoshop? that part was scrolled thru very quickly so i couldn’t understand how you achieved the separation.. did you do it manually or there’s a photoshop plug-in for that? thanks
Hi,
So far as I know, there are no plugin to do that. you need to manually separate layers, and then, use the stamp tool to create the hidden parts by the foreground elements. to do not get a empty surfaces in your animation after moving the camera.
It’s difficult for me to explain you better than that. so look at all the layers in the psd (in project files) and you will understand the process.
